Taking inspiration from American McGee’s Alice and Grimm franchises, Woolfe- The Red Hood Diaries is a gritty reimagination of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale with gameplay consisting of a mix between platforming and hack & slash combat. The game was previously available as an early access title, but has now released as a full product.
This 2.5D adventure puts players in the role of a grown-up Red Riding Hood seeking revenge for her father’s unnatural death. Armed with a woodcutter’s axe, she is on the hunt for the CEO of Woolfe Industries, who rules the nearby city with an iron fist and is probably the one responsible for the murder.
The game is available for $9.99 and, based on user reviews, the game appears to be a bit brief, but wholly enjoyable. A “volume 2” is scheduled to release in August.
