WarZ developer reveals preliminary findings following hacking attack

OP Productions is currently licking their wounds after their forums were recently assaulted by a horde shambling hackers. Any sane person will naturally be somewhat tense after a game they play has been hacked, since there is no telling if hackers made of with their e-mail address, game account or even payment information, so in an attempt to calm down their players, OP has released a statement detailing the results of their investigation so far.

According to their findings, hackers entered the forums via backdoor-entries they opened beforehand, then used administrator accounts to access the database and delete all forum posts and messages. Furthermore, some careless admins used the same login information for both the forum and the game, so hackers accessed the game with the same accounts and randomly banned players for a while. As for their loot, the attackers made off with encrypted passwords and e-mail addresses that are used to log in. They also found out the IP addresses from which the players sign into the forum.

It’s still been researched whether or not the game accounts database was entered, but no definitive proof has been found so far.
