Walking Dead videogame on the horizon, pending certification

Looks like the Walking Dead universe just got a whole lot bigger. Telltale games has announced that they are working on a Walking Dead video game series  in episodic format, much like Jurassic Park and Siren Blood Curse. They will be releasing the episodes separately so it will be similar to the actual television show. The individual episodes are said to be around two hours long and have plenty of replay value.

The game takes place more in the comic book world than the world of the AMC TV series and follows a new character named Lee Everett. Lee is a convict who was on his way to prison but along the way his bus crashed. Another main character is a young girl named Clementine who bonds with Lee throughout the story.

The game is going to be submitted for approval later this week for PSN and XBLA, there is currently no word on a PC release. The actual release is not yet known but should be sometime around April or May according to Telltale CEO Dan Connors. Connors told  Digital Trend at GDC that he expects the certification process to take about six weeks.

With Season 2 coming to a close and Season 3 set for later this year, it looks like there is plenty to look forward to in the coming months. Other than that, be on the look out for more news on the game and a release date!
