Visual novels have really started gaining traction outside of Japan in recent years, and Chaos;Child is shaping up to be another quality entry in the genre. Developed by Steins;Gate creators 5bp and taking place in the same Science Adventure Series, Chaos;Child follows Takuru Miyashiro, a Japanese student investigating a series of murders that may be tied to his past.
Chaos;Child sets itself apart from other visual novels by introducing a delusion system that will allow players to choose how to perceive certain events as he investigates the murders sweeping Shibuya. Publisher PQube has released a trailer that will give visual novel fans a good idea what to expect of the gameplay. You can take a look at the trailer down below.
Chaos;Child will feature all the hallmarks of the genre, including multiple endings and character bonds, and promises more than 50 hours of gameplay. Coming from a pedigree like 5bp, it could very well end up being the next visual novel sensation, so you don’t want to miss out.
Chaos;Child releases October 24 for Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita. Visual novels fans may also want to check out our review of recent release The Letter, which you can read right here.
