Vampyr sounds like a pretty grim RPG from the Life is Strange team

Life is Strange may not be a horror title, but upon playing the first chapter I did appreciate the game’s Donnie Darko-esque tone. From what I hear (as much as I’ve made myself privy to without seeing spoilers), the game gets pretty dark and weird. Life is Strange developer DONTNOD Entertainment is no stranger to third person action games either, with their 2013 game Remember Me. Now the studio is mashing their adventure game talents with their desire to tell a darker tale with their newly announced Action RPG, Vampyr.

Vampyr takes place in 1918 London, with players in the leather-strapped boots of Jonathan Reid – a medical scientist turned vampiric night-walker. The game itself is inspired by the Spanish Flu epidemic that tormented London that same year, and will task players with uncovering the origins of their own affliction and learning of the city’s history. Exploration, vampiric combat abilities with a variety of weapons, and player-driven plot changes are all a focus in Vampyr.

There’s not much to see right now about Vampyr outside of concept art, but my interest is certainly peaked. Check out the new game info from DONTNOD Entertainment’s Game Director Philippe Moreau.
