US Gamestop locations drop Nintendo 3DS price

Resident Evil Revelations released today (err, yesterday actually at the time of this news post).  If you’re one of the folks out there that don’t yet own Nintendo’s latest handheld or were holding off on getting one until the price came down a bit, Gamestop locations in the United States have a little surprise for you.

The retailer is offering all colours (even the upcoming cute pink one) for $20 off the regular price of $169.99USD.  This is also $20 cheaper than competing retailers have them listed at as well, including Amazon.

This price drop could be due to the incoming Playstation Vita (ouch…my wallet!) and may indicate an industry-wide price drop on the Nintendo 3DS.  It’s clear that Nintendo is pushing its fledgling handheld pretty hard, and the competition is about to get pretty fierce.

The added bonus of Resident Evil Revelations having ‘just’ been released is just icing on an already delicious cake.  With an extra $20, you could put some of that cash towards…y’know, that game.  Or others…I guess.  Unfortunately for the time being, this price cut is only available in the United States, but we’re optimistic that Nintendo will indeed drop the price of the 3DS before the Vita launches.

Horror fans, if you were looking to pick up a Nintendo 3DS, now is definitely the time to buy!  In the mean time, be sure to check back at RoH for our review of Resident Evil Revelations.  Our Editor in Chief’s review just might help you make the decision to seal the deal.
