Two indie games popped up on Steam last night and rather than addressing them in separate posts, I decided to tackle both at the same time.
The first one is Lost in a Forest, developed by the Ukrainian studio Konsordo, which was previously responsible for another horror titled called “The House“. At first glance it appears like just another Slender knock-off, but the game considers itself a parody and gives you various items with which to defend yourself, my favorite being the potato gun. The game is available for $2 or 1,50 in either pounds or euros, so if you feel like laughing at the tropes we find in modern horror games for a bit, then it’s definitely worth considering.
The second game is also comical in nature, but sadly not intentionally so. One Night, designed by a man called Rinat Mirzasalikhov, boasts a description that manages to confuse instead of inform potential buyers:
Usual watchman in the office. What could be safer, but not so simple. Serenity violating a stranger who snuck into the office, you will learn what goals it pursues. The dead silence of the night office awaits you, chilling atmosphere and secrets that will reveal to you.
Poorly translated description aside, the game seems to consist mostly of having you walk around scary environments. At the time of writing, there are only three user reviews, all of which are negative towards the game, so I doubt it will be worth anyone’s time.
