If you’re in the mood for some ghost huntin’ and you want to do it in Tokyo, NIS America has good news for you. ARC SYSTEM WORKS’ Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters will be coming to the PS3 and PS Vita in both North America and Europe in 2015. This mouthful of a game is a visual novel starring you as an ordinary transfer student (of course!) starting a new life at Kurenai Academy in Shinjuku. On your very first day you have a brush with the supernatural, introducing you to a life of ghost hunting.
Esteemed composer Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame will be providing the title track and music. Multiple story paths are promised, and conversations involved a unique system in which you choose an emotion and one of the five senses. Battles with the ghosts switch between a battle map and a first-person view and is said to be heavily inspired by strategy RPGs. Though TTGH sounds more like a JRPG right now, let’s hope that it delves deeply into its horror themes. If the sound design is as effective as Corpse Party, we could have something deliciously unnerving on our hands.
