Several retailers are listing Activision’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct at a lower price than usual. Amazon, Gamestop, and Best Buy all list the title to be $50 at launch. What does this mean? Perhaps, Activision is selling the game at a sort of budget price?
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has had a rough time being considered a title worth waiting for. Leaked footage of the game looked pretty terrible and this led Terminal Reality’s Glenn Gamble to tell Eurogamer that it was “old footage”. Activision then responded with an official trailer that featured a disheveled and confused Norman Reedus, and no gameplay. Just yesterday did we see the first official footage of the game. It doesn’t look too good, but maybe the gameplay will make up for the game’s lackluster visuals.
The game being sold for $50 may be a sign that the publisher lacks confidence in the title, as well–but not much of a reduced price, is it?. I guess we’ll find out if The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will survive critics once it releases on March 26th.
