In a very puzzling move, Activision announced the release date for their upcoming first person shooter The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. A 19 second video was uploaded to the game’s official Youtube channel that featured actors Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker, who play Daryl Dixon and Merle Dixon respectively, from the Walking Dead television series, encouraging us to check the game out, followed by a logo and a release date. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct releases on March 26th, 2013.
This video really does not help ease concerns many fans have been having about the game as of late. We still have yet to see gameplay of a recent build of the game, as the last bit of footage that was compiled by fans was never intended to be used as promotional material. Now Activision releases a 19 second video with no gameplay yet again that barely passes as a trailer and announces the release date, which isn’t far off at all. Hopefully the game’s developer Terminal Reality can pull off something great, but as it stands right now, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
The game’s box art has also been revealed in the image below, which also confirms that the game will be hitting the Wii U, too.
