What do you do when you have a highly-successful television show, one that’s based on a very succesful comic book series? You milk it. While in the case of ‘The Walking Dead’, this isn’t really a bad thing whatsoever. In fact, as it’s being rumored, a ‘Walking Dead’ game developed by Telltale seems like a very intruiging prospect.
Telltale has been recently putting a lot of work into developing licensed games, with Back to the Future and the upcoming Jurassic Park title. Now, we can add ‘The Walking Dead’ to that list if these rumors prove to be factual. And seriously, why wouldn’t they?
We’ll have to wait till February 17th to find out, when Telltale will be revealing 5 new upcoming, multi-platform, projects that are in the works. The invitation to this event provides even more clues as to these rumors being true with it stating in relation to one of the projects as being “one based on a just-launched property from the TV and comic book world whose popularity is changing life as some know it.”
What do you guys think? Will you be willing to play a game based on ‘The Walking Dead’? Personally, I can’t wait for this to finally happen and with Telltale having strong roots in the adventure genre, couple that with the show’s/comic’s story revolving around humanity and survival in a zombie apocalypse, we’re set to have quite a gem once this lands on consoles.
