Developer Skybound Games continues to alleviate previous series doubts with their latest The Walking Dead ‘Broken Toys’ Trailer. The story of the previous development team at Telltale is certainly one for the ages and one in which we’ve covered extensively here at Rely on Horror. In regards to the game, the latest trailer shows that Clem will face harrowing decisions and new life-altering challenges as her personal journey through an undead apocalypse
“After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be Clementine’s chance for a home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. In this gripping, emotional final season, your choices will define your relationships and determine how Clementine’s story ends.”
The Walking Dead ‘Broken Toys’ trailer begins with Clem who doesn’t have time for any games as the tumbler of a revolver is spun and a man tied to a chair is shot in the shoulder. Her people have been taken and there’s a ticking clock regarding their safety. With information not forthcoming, Clem warns her younger companion that he should look away for what comes next.
The trailer ends with an intestine-strewn Clem shambling towards an outpost, Lilly whose taken her people, and the briefest glimpse of a younger smaller Clem receiving a “Hey sweetpea” from Lee, her long-dead mentor and father figure. Cue the waterworks! Goodness, I wasn’t expecting that ending.
