According to their official Twitter account, The Swapper, a previously PC exclusive indie title from Facepalm Games will be coming to the Wii U later this year. Curve Studios has been instrumental in getting some indie games to a wider audience on Playstation consoles, and we all know that the Wii U could use some more good games. One might say this could herald some other PC indie titles coming to the Wii U in the future?
According to another tweet, the Wii U version will be close to the Playstation 4 version as opposed to the Playstation 3 version in terms of graphics and frame rate.
The Swapper is a platformer set on an outpost just outside of a newly discovered planet, on the Theseus space station. Communication with the station has gone dark and it’s up to you to discover why that is. According to CJ’s review (he just reviewed by the way) the story has dark existential themes and is dripping with dark and moody atmosphere. You need to solve environmental puzzles using duplicates of your character, which will move in tandem with you, adding to the challenge.
There’s no confirmed release date for The Swapper on the Wii U yet, but we’ll bring you the news as soon as it becomes available.
