With video games becoming more and more powerful, the art becoming more and more realistic or just all around beautiful, it’s a surprise that in-game photography and the sharing of in-game photography hasn’t really taken off until recently. With a game as gorgeous as The Last of Us Remastered, you’re going to want to take a lot of pictures. Naughty Dog realized this and implemented a Photo Mode.
It’d be easy just to implement a simple screen-capture system, but no. Naughty Dog aims to please the photography enthusiast in you by adding a number of different features to allow you to get the perfect shot. Camera control, field of view, depth of field, colour filters, different vignettes, different frames and even a grain filter will be present to really allow for a nice picture.
The Photo Mode is activated through the pause screen, then when you find yourself in a perfect spot for a photo, tap L3 to freeze the action (so long as you’re not in a cutscene) to start taking pictures.
Photo Mode will be available for The Last of Us: Remastered in Patch 1.01. The patch should be available to download when the game releases in a few days. Naughty Dog will be retweeting some of the photos it receives, so give it your best shot.
