Funcom Productions has just released the first teaser for their abandoned amusement park-themed first person horror game, The Park. According to the game’s official website, The Park is “A horror experience set in an amusement park where a dark and sinister secret is waiting to be uncovered.” Additional story details state the game stars a mother looking for her lost son.
Funcom is a Norwegian-based games developer that generally specializes in online MMO-style gaming (Age of Conan, Anarchy Online); this is their first game to feature a single-player experience since the release of their highly-acclaimed classic, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. The Park looks to be a departure for the development team, and a welcome addition to the horror gaming genre. Featuring some pretty intense visuals and terrifying situations, the trailer is enough to give any Carny the creeps, and they’ve seen some stuff.
The Park is due out on PC in October of this year, which is great news! Let’s hope it doesn’t involve clowns. It probably does, though.
