If you are one of the early players of The Last of Us, which was released today for the PlayStation 3, you may have experienced an autosave issue. Naughty Dog were quick to address the issue, however, explaining that the problem was caused by a server which stores character stats. The issue has now been resolved, and all players will now need to do is to quit the session and restart it.
Here is Naughty Dog’s full statement on the issue, which was posted on their Facebook page recently;
“Hi all,
The autosave issue some of you have been encountering has been investigated thoroughly. We have determined that the cause had to do with a server we were using to capture player stats, which is why playing offline may have alleviated the issue for some players. We have addressed the issue with the server.
All you need to do is quit any current playthrough of The Last of Us all the way out to the XMB, and then restart the game.
Existing save files are okay. Both single-player and multiplayer are okay to play. I.E. you play online in any mode.”
Now, you can go about your zombie-slaying adventures without worrying about broken autosaves. Good luck out there!
