When we first brought you news about the Playstation 3 exclusive The Last of Us, we weren’t quite sure if we’d be following it through to release. There was so little known about the game, including genre, that for all we knew it could have been a war shooter. The only thing we could be sure of was that Cordyceps sounded too creepy to pass up.
Today, The Last of Us took another turn for the creepy with a new screenshot (not so creepy) and an updated trailer.
You might be asking yourself, “What? Where’s the new trailer? It’s just the same ones as before.”
Watch the ant trailer to the end.
We’re always looking forward to the weekend, but the anticipation to the official reveal at the VGAs this weekend is killing us. What could that noise be? A generator? As always, we’ll post more news when it becomes available.
UPDATE
Another image we forgot to mention before. Whoops!
We did some sleuthing around (actually just took a magnifying glass to the second new screenshot, the one of the newspaper) and managed to decypher…
[Date on the top of the newspaper] Monday, February [illegible]
[Headline] THE LAST OF US
THE PRESIDENT ADDRESSES A PANICKED NATION AS MILLIONS MORE ARE FEARED DEAD OR INFECTED
[In Image Quote]
“Our union remains strong. The military is making large gains and securing additional quarantine zones. This is our turning point. We are not and will not become the last of us. Mankind will prevail.”
[Text header] Texas, New Mexico Quarantine Fails
[Picture on bottom right] England Latest to Declare Martial Law
Is this the newspaper’s date indicative of a possible release window? We know that February seems a little early, but it could be a potential ‘more information’ date, too.
