Today Naughty Dog has revealed the first of three DLC packs announced for The Last of Us. Kicking off the season pass’ offerings will be the Abandoned Territories Map Pack, multiplayer DLC featuring four new locations: Suburbs, Bus Depot (with Giraffes!), Hometown, and Bookstore. The map pack will hit PlayStation Network on October 15th as part of the game’s $20 season pass.
The second announcement from the team comes in the form of an update on The Last of Us‘ first single player DLC chapter. Naughty Dog states that they’ve recently wrapped up casting for their new character and motion capture will begin soon. The unnamed story DLC is set to arrive sometime around December or January.
The third reveal of the day links to more multiplayer content, which is planned to release early 2014. In the meantime, the team has added over 60 new head items (aka hats and masks) to the game. These new items will be available to existing season pass holders and those who wish to buy them separately.
It’s probably about time that I actually try the multiplayer in this game. I”m not sure why I’ve held off so long.
