Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us arrives on May 7th, 2013 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. The game was previously scheduled for a vague 2013 release, but a trailer shown at the Spike TV Video Game Awards (VGA) gave us this new date. For the Europeans among us, this date also applies to our (superior) continent.
The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic survival game, which looks a lot like a grittier Uncharted (not a coincidence) to me. Judging by the trailers from last year and E3 2012 the game features intense combat, scavenging and trying to avoid monsters–which aren’t bad qualities.
Since this is made by the studio who has been previously known for making the better Crash Bandicoot games, the whole Uncharted series and the Jak franchise, it’s safe to assume that this title will have some capable folks working on it. I personally think the game looks a bit generic and slow, but feel free to watch the trailer below and judge for yourselves.
