Ah, yes. Alan Wake 2. Where shall one begin when taking part in chatter about the highly anticipated, and highly inevitable, sequel from Remedy? Well, for starters, let’s recall the current state of the Alan Wake brand. Back in May we first got a sign pointing towards the existence of Alan Wake 2– despite Remedy confirming that they were working on an Alan Wake project that wasn’t a sequel. That ‘sign’ came in the form of an artist’s resume, which listed Alan Wake 2 as a title said artist has worked on. Well, as you would imagine, we were hyped for what would be one killer announcement at this year’s E3. But alas, no Alan Wake goodness came out of the venue.
So, here we are, months later and we just got a recent rumor to chew on that may paint a bright future for those highly anticipating Mr. Wake’s return in a sequel to one of the best survival horror titles in recent memory. Said rumor comes from Xbox World magazine stating that Remedy has been quiet in regards to Alan Wake 2 because they’re actually working on it for Microsoft’s next home console (possibly called the Xbox 720; get it?). It’s a scenario that definitely seems likely, so perhaps we could wind up with Alan Wake 2 serving as one of the major launch titles for the 360’s successor.
