DEAD ISLAND
Dead Island went from a game nobody knew about to a game everyone is raving about after Deep Silver unleashed the announcement trailer (which kind reminds me personally of ‘Lost’) that truly delivers all the goods from a zombie apocalypse game.
The game is set in a resort located in Papua New Guinea, where our heroes wakes up after partying all night only to find the whole island infested by flesh eating zombies. There are four characters that we are able to choose from, the hotel staff member Xian Mei, Logan a surfer, a former rapper Sam B and unknown character named Purna.
Dead Island will have open world gameplay with first-person viewpoint, with up to four-player co-operative play online. These features, combined with weapon customizations, vehicular combat, and some RPG elements, sounds very intense and exciting. With a focus on melee combat, the game will feature a skill tree system as well as an experience system. Additionally, there will be a ‘stamina bar’, which means our character won’t be able to attack continually without tiring themselves out so they need to stop for a bit and recharge this stamina bar.

I am very excited to see what the game will offer us coming this year’s E3. The environment and atmosphere of the game looks different and refreshing but I am really really hoping for a strong narrative in the story department.
In the coming E3 2011, will Dead Island re-invigorate our senses with their take on the zombie genre? Do you have high expectations on this game?
