E3 is right around the corner and this year we have quite a healthy dose of horror titles to look forward to at the show, not counting whatever surprises publishers may have in store for us. Rely on Horror will be represented at this year’s show and we’re promising you loads of coverage during that week. From franchise titles like Resident Evil: Revelations, Mercenaries 3D and Silent Hill: Downpour to original IPs like AMY and Shadows of the Damned, there should be something for every type of horror fan. So, we decided to compose a limited daily feature in which we’ll be listing the horror games that we’re excited to see at the show.
AMY
Expected to hit in the latter end of the summer, AMY is shaping up to be a survival-horror gem amidst other big-name franchise releases this year. So far, everything we’ve seen paints a positive picture for this upcoming PSN release that sees players take on the role of Lana in a post-apocalyptic setting brought about by the catastrophic effects of global warming. Don’t worry, though, the game won’t be a piece of political propaganda, instead, we’re getting a horror experience that actually incorporates real-world issues to help invoke a greater sense of dread to players.
Then we have Amy herself, and as the title would have you believe, who plays a major role in the game despite her apparently weak stature. She’s able to keep Lana’s infection at ease so that she doesn’t turn into one of the game’s infected mutants. She also plays a role in helping keep Lana’s sanity in check. AMY is definitely a game we here at ROH are all extremely excited about and there’s no denying that our excitement level is going to increase come E3.
So, what exactly are we anticipating to see at E3? Well, for starters: a full trailer showning off both the story elements from the game as well as the gameplay mechanics at work. There will also be a playable demo of AMY at E3, so we’re expecting it to deliver on the scares whereas a majority of other titles settle for action-packed scenarios. We’ll be sure to bring you full coverage on all things AMY come E3. Stay tuned.
