Adolescent adventure horror game The Blackout Club has had a fairly active few weeks on Steam Early Access, with a healthy amount of new features and tweaks steadily released. The game’s latest update aims to up the scare factor in a variety of new ways — such as utilizing player microphones to “create the most immersive horror experience.”
The biggest addition in The Blackout Club‘s Enhanced Horror update relies on this vague use of vocalizations to alter the game in some way. One thing to note is that this feature has nothing to do with attracting enemies when making noise through the mic. The new Enhanced Horror System as it’s called requires players to opt in when launching the game.
In addition to this interesting new mechanic, the Enhanced Horror update expands the maze area, reworks skills and skill trees, and adds new environmental traps. And there’s even a much needed UI overhaul. The full patch notes are available here.
