TGS 2018: Dante and Friends Return in New Devil May Cry 5 Trailer

Straight outta TGS 2018 we’ve got our first bit of quality time with Dante as seen in Devil May Cry 5. The boy is back, and so are his lovely partners, Lady and Trish. The new trailer for DMC5 shows off some of Dante’s attacks — some returning from past games such as the Sparda scythe and gauntlets — and his reunion with Nero. Dante can be briefly seen manning the Devil May Cry business before he goes off to kill the latest demon threats — in Devil Trigger mode as well, just before he stumbles upon Nero and Nico. This will be the oldest Dante seen in the series so far.

The new DMC5 trailer also introduces the game’s third playable character, V. This new demon hunter rocks quite the scene-kid aesthetic. Is he also part demon? Probably. Sadly his various combat styles have not been shown just yet. Bets on him being or working with Virgil?

In addition to the trailer release, Capcom has also dropped details about Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe Edition. This SKU comes with four unique devil breakers — Mega Man’s Mega-Buster included — upgraded motorcycle weapon for Dante, alternate announcer VO, 12 classic battle themes from DMC1-3, and behind the scenes live action cutscenes. Those who additionally pre-order DMC5 will have access to 5 alternate color costumes for the game’s cast.

The game’s PlayStation Store product page also lists about mysterious multiplayer support. Will more than one demon hunter be playable at the same time thanks to online co-op? Perhaps! We’ll have to wait for more info from Capcom.

DMC5 is set for release on March 8, 2019 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out the trailer, gameplay for a Mega Buster mode, and screenshots below.
