TGS 2010: Sega bringing ‘Rise of Nightmares’ to Kinect

Last night, in our time, Microsoft showcased their various partnerships with Eastern developers highlighting all the different games that will be hitting their Kinect peripheral, games with a more core-gamer orientation. The noteworthy one, for purposes of this site, was Sega’s ‘Rise of Nightmares’. This title will be released exclusively for the xbox360 with its compatibility being tied to Kinect. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been extremely critical of Microsoft’s attempts to get into the motion control market, seeing as how there’s no controller!, but this looks somewhat promising. I mean, Kinect for all intents and purposes, is designed to get the player fully immersed into the experience being portrayed on-screen in front of them, in body and mind. Now imagine a horror experience done right, with those goals in mind. It could turn out to be something at least decent for a horror game. Who knows, more info as it comes.
