There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the performance of next-gen consoles lately, but Techland doesn’t want to discriminate between Sony and Microsoft and aims to make Dying Light run equally well on both systems.
The Xbox One and Playstation 4 are competing for dominance and the resolution games support is an easy arguments for fans if the numbers are in their favor. Due to the many multi-platform titles releasing next year, Gaming Bolt decided to reach out to Techland and ask if their upcoming zombie game would run the same on both systems. Tech Director Jakub Klarowicz replied, stating that: “It’s too early to tell. We aim to have the final game running at 1080p, 60 fps on both PS4 and Xbox One, and it seems that we will be able to achieve this. Obviously, we’re still working on the game itself and its optimization, but we aim to provide that kind of experience when the game launches.”
This is some pretty good news, since this means nobody gets shafted with a game that runs at half the speed it should that also looks significantly less-detailed. I applaud Techland for their effort and recommend you all to check out the rest of the interview for more information.
