In speaking with GameZone, Techland’s producer Tymon Smektala stated that the company is not quite ready to talk about a sequel to the pretty-dang-successful Dying Light. Having sold nearly 4.5 million copy, a sequel seems inevitable – and wanted if I might add.
“Definitely not at this time,” Smektala said to GameZone. “While Dying Light 2 seems like a no brainer, there’s a lot work done on the subject. I don’t want to jump the gun, so there’s nothing to announce at this time though.”
We plan to support Dying Light for a quite bit, and there will be a variety of drops – free patches/updates with new content as well as bigger, paid things,” Smektala continued. “I hope we’ll reveal what’s coming quite soon.”
More Dying Light? Sure, but Techland does seem pretty busy supporting the first game, which is great! With season pass content still trickling out and free stuff just because they feel like it, Dying Light owners should keep preoccupied for awhile. It’s great to see the team not chase the game’s success and rush to put out a sequel so soon. But part of me does want to see what they do with the feedback received from the first game. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
