Techland Confirms Long-Term Support for Dying Light 2, While Developing 'The Beast'

Techland is working hard on Dying Light: The Beast, a new standalone episode in the parkour zombie series. At the same time, they plan to continue supporting Dying Light 2: Stay Human for a few more years.

This was confirmed by franchise director Tymon Smektala in an interview with Prankster101. He mentioned that the studio is “not abandoning Dying Light 2” and that the game will still receive all the support they promised, “so at least for five years.”

Dying Light 2: Stay Human was released in February 2022. If Techland keeps its promise, the game will continue to get updates, balancing changes, new features, and more until at least 2027. That’s a long time, but it follows the same approach that was taken with the previous game, which was highly appreciated by fans.

Just a few days ago, Techland released a new major update that improved the co-op multiplayer experience and added new content to the Tower Raid, including 27 new weapons and many rewards.

Interestingly, Dying Light: The Beast was originally planned as the second paid expansion for Dying Light 2. However, it has now become a full standalone game. The game is expected to launch in the summer of this year for PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
