System Shock Jumps to Unreal in Latest Trailer

NightDive Studio’s System Shock remake has just had a new trailer released, showing the game’s jump to Unreal Engine 4 from Unity. It’s looking pretty darn fine, although, I do miss the pixelated filter from the early demo.

Some gameplay scenes are put on display, showing the protagonist beat in the heads of some lanky enemies while exploring dimly lit metal hallways. Shit-talker SHODAN can also be heard, with a glimpse at her semi-new look on a monitor. Overall, the game is looking (and sounding) pretty good.

I admit, I’ve yet to play the original System Shock, but based on all of the talk about how fateful this remake appears to be, I think I have a healthy alternative with NightDive’s game. Interested parties can pick up System Shock when it releases in early 2018 for PC, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4. Pre-order / backer pledging is available at the team’s website.
