Three days, people. Just three more days.
So Resident Evil fans have been quick to notice subtle teasing from multiple Capcom accounts regarding the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake, and the trend continues today with Capcom’s official Development Team 1 Twitter account. We’d previously authenticated this account for a tweet it had shared regarding potential Dino Crisis games in the future, and it looks like they’re having some fun with props. They’ve been tweeting some pretty fun pictures lately of the Resident Evil 7 Collector’s Edition Finger replica sitting in various spots around Japan, and today’s is… a little different. While the finger is still present, the object in the foreground is clearly the focus.

Yeah, having owned a vintage style typewriter, I can confirm that is for sure what we’re seeing here. While typewriters are pretty much a staple of the series (despite not appearing in a traditional sense in a single release since 2005’s Resident Evil 4, aside from a DLC mode in Umbrella Corps), I’d find this image a lot less tantalizing if it wasn’t trying to hide the typewriter. Saving with one of these was a staple of the series before it switched over to auto-saving from Resident Evil 5 onward, and seeing it again instantly makes me think of only one project we know Capcom has in production: Resident Evil 2 Remake (or REmake 2). It’s even more exciting to think about the idea that this could (obviously, grain of salt) indicate classic saving for the remake as well.
Resident Evil 2‘s 20th anniversary is this coming monday (1/21) and fans are eagerly hoping that Capcom plans to finally let us see a trailer for the upcoming remake of the classic game. Fingers crossed, friends.
