Stygian is a short-story-style horror game developed by indie game developer Snarkle Studios that features low poly/resolution PS1-style graphics and utilizes traditional tank controls and fixed camera angles. Set in the fictional town of Lychgate in Wiltshire, England in the 1980s, a group of teenagers decides to spend overnight in an old and abandoned church. Betrayed by one of their own, they quickly succumb to the evil lurking within the church.
The game looks to take players down memory lane, as the graphics are very similar to early PS1 horror games like Clock Tower and Echo Night.
Stygian lasts between 30-40 minutes, perfect for a quick YouTube playthrough.
Stygian is currently available for free for Windows and Mac operating systems on the game’s itch.io page.
