Strategically take down zombies in Breach & Clear: Deadline

Breach & Clear

Serving as a follow-up to the amazing strategy game Breach & Clear, Deadline is a game I have been looking forward to since it was announced in July of 2013. The game is now finally in Early Access, allowing eager gamers to help improve the final product with (helpful) feedback.

Breach & Clear: Deadline is a risky project, as it does away with a lot of what made the original game interesting. Instead of terrorists and other criminals, players now have to lead a squad of soldiers against zombies. The game is also no longer turn-based, which sounds like it would turn into an absolute mess as players must coordinate four men at the same time, but the developers seem confident that their new “Command Mode” will make this a lot easier. The rigid mission structure has also being replaced with an open world filled with side-quests.

Mighty Rabbit Studios, Gun Media, and Devolver Digital chose to release the game in Early Access in order to fine-tune this complicated hybrid of genres and mechanics. A final release date has not been revealed yet, so keep in mind that you may be paying for a product that will remain unfinished for quite some time.
