Story-driven, New Orleans-based horror game Ingonga hits kickstarter

boo

Heavy on story and exploration, this new indie, first-person horror title, titled Ingonga, puts you in the role of Luna, a young woman looking for her m0ther. This journey takes her to an eerie and atmospheric island in the bayous east of New Orleans. Her mother’s last known location was on that island twenty years ago when she was investigating the horrible events that had occurred there. Journalism isn’t easy!

When you first arrive, your eyes are treated to a beautiful vista. But as we all know, that layer of comfort will soon be stripped away to reveal some form of ugliness and outright horror. The very fabrics of time and space work differently on this island than anywhere else (lending itself nicely to the game’s somewhat random nature complete with branching paths), which will make the search for Luna’s mom even more complicated. And it won’t take long until you’ll confront the cause for everything that’s going on: the Ingonga.

You can back the game by heading to the source link below where you’ll also find more images and even developer videos showing off various aspects of the game. It sounds promising from what they have now, and the creature design (as evidenced above) is quite neat! I’m also really eager to see how they utilize voodo, which the developer describes as being a crucial part of the game but depicted in a way that’s different than how it has been in other mediums.
