We must be caught in a temporal distortion, because I’m pretty sure this happened last year too. Coming from Neogaf, user jshackles noticed that the stats page on Steam malfunctioned briefly, and showed unreleased titles. Chief among them was Killing Floor 2. When this happened last year (feels like just a month, ugh), Tripwire said that the title was a joke and that it was actually DLC. This Steam Database tweet says it was a misleading title for regular Killing Floor DLC. Others have speculated that it was the OUYA-exclusive Killing Floor: Calamity, but that was released last December. So which is it?!
A sequel wouldn’t be a surprise at this point, since the game has been so successful and still has a very active community. Tripwire Interactive released an expansion for Red Orchestra in the middle of last year and then finished up Calamity, so they’re most likely in the middle of development for our favorite specimen slaying shooter. Hopefully we’ll here something official about it relatively soon.
