State of Decay’s second DLC named ‘Lifeline’, includes new map

State of Decay is one of those games that genuinely has continuous support from its developer – not only to fix bugs or problems, but to further add significant content. In this day and age, the term Expansion is rarely justified. We no longer get massive content packs; we get a continuous stream of DLC. Expansion packs are becoming rarer and rarer, and any developer claiming to be releasing one makes me skeptical. Undead Labs on the other hand don’t get that reaction from me. Despite not being massively in love with their games, I like them as a studio and appreciate how much they interact with their community and further improve upon their game.

Today, State of Decay‘s second Expansion Pack has officially been announced. Titled “Lifeline”, details on the new DLC are thin, but one big thing has been revealed about it: it’s going to include a new map. Previously limited to one “state”, State of Decay players will have a new location to explore, pillage, and build a home in.

State of Decay: Lifeline is currently does not have a concrete release date, but internal playtesting has already begun on Steam. The content will be making its way to Steam and Xbox Live simultaneously later this year.
