State of Decay title update, DLC release date pushed forward

Thanks to the close relationship between Microsoft and Undead Labs, the last bit of DLC for State of Decay will be releasing a month earlier than its intended target date.

State of Decay: Lifeline will be releasing May 30 for the Xbox 360.  The highly ambitious Lifeline follows the army platoon Greyhound One as it attempts to maintain order in a city overrun with zombies.  The expansion will feature a new story, new weapons and game features, as well as a completely new map.  Here’s hoping that it’s as good as it looks.

For folks not interested in picking up the DLC (which will be $6.99 by the way), a free title update Rucks in Trucks will make going on supply runs a bit less tedious.  The Rucks in Trucks will add trunk interactivity to vehicles in the game.   To put it simply, vehicles will have a limited inventory in their trunks, where  rucksacks can be placed in trunks along with other items and driven back to the base.  Park the vehicle in an indicated parking spot and boom!  Rucksacks are automatically added to the base’s inventory.  It wasn’t made immediately clear in the blog post if more than one rucksack could be picked up, or if the inventory was limited to one or two, but I can’t imagine a trunk full inventory slots, but only one or two reserved for rucksacks.

However, vehicles that are destroyed will take all of their inventory with them.  So if that vehicle flips or ignites, better rush to the trunk and get your stuff before it perishes!
