State of Decay patch not working as intended, Undead Labs waiting on Microsoft for solution

Undead Labs, the developers of State of Decay, received some troubling news today. In a thread on the official Undead Labs forum, Executive Producer Jeff Strain announced his displeasure with the current situation regarding State of Decay‘s first patch. The patch sent to Microsoft, the game’s publisher, has not been properly coded to apply itself to the main game. While users can download the 60+ MB patch, it will have no effect on the game.

Undead Labs is currently talking to Microsoft to get the issue fixed, as it is something only the publisher is capable of doing on their own platform. This isn’t the first time a bad patch was released on Xbox Live, but usually it’s an oversight of the developer, not Microsoft. Either way, let’s hope that the issue is fixed quickly. Strain states that if patch 1 is not reissued, then patch 2 will have a dual purpose of fixing this problem, as well as adding some new fixes to the game itself.
