Undead Labs made the following statement on their site:
At Undead Labs, we are dedicated to serving a passionate community of fans and are continuously listening to feedback, and our goal is to always be a fan-first studio. One of the top requests we get is to bring State of Decay 2 to Steam. Today, the team is happy to announce that State of Decay 2 is coming to Steam in early 2020 for all of our fans to enjoy!
This is the sequel to the 2013 title, which besides improving its multiplayer, invites you to survive the zombie apocalypse, either collecting resources, fighting or building your own shelter. State of Decay 2 is a highly recommended game for those who enjoyed the first game or those who seek an adventure of action and cooperative survival.
During E3 2018, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Undead Labs, along with Ninja Theory, PlayGround Games, Compulsion Games, and the opening of The Initiative. Regarding State of Decay 2, this is a game that allows you to build a base, develop the skills of your characters and manage resources to survive. Recently they announced that the title had achieved 5 million players, one million more than at the end of 2018. The studio says this is thanks to the regularly released updates and news it has been receiving since launch, for example, adventures with new characters or difficulty modes.
