STALKER 2 Still In Development Using Unreal Engine

Are you worried about the future of STALKER 2? You really don’t have to be, since it’s still in development. In fact, its development team recently confirmed that they’ve already chosen the game engine they’re using to develop it.

Through a message posted on Twitter, developer GSC Game World said they are constantly looking for the best technologies. After researching and analyzing various options, they decided that the best choice for STALKER 2 was to use Unreal Engine 4, the game engine developed by Epic Games. According to the studio, Unreal Engine 4 will give them the opportunity to make STALKER 2 the game the community wants it to be. That is, an experience full of tension and mystery. The engine also allows easier and more accessible modding, which is something very important to them, especially after all the support the modding in the first STALKER received.

Many believe that the development of STALKER 2 in Unreal Engine 4 means the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. However, GSC Game World made it clear that the reality is very different and that this announcement has nothing to do with “platforms or digital stores.” They also noted that we will know more about it later.

What do you think about this? Do you think Unreal Engine 4 is the right engine for the game? Let us know in the comments. STALKER 2 is currently set to release sometime in 2021.
