The much-awaited shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has just received another delay, despite it receiving what we thought was a final release day.
The problems and delays along the long and stony path towards the sequel’s eventual release have not come to an end just yet. Developer GSC Game World has issued a message to all players via social media in which announced the most recent delay. At this point, the press team might just have saved the file as something like “final-release-date-announcement-final-revised-actualfinal-02.txt.”
The previous release date of September 5 was moving closer fast. Too fast, as it turns out. In this latest message, the team asks for another two months of time to iron out more bugs plaguing the Zone, leading to a new launch date of November 20, 2024.

Along with the classic statement-style image post on their socials, GSC Game World has also posted a tongue-in-cheek video about the delay on YouTube, fittingly titled “Really, Again?”.
In the video, which you can check out at the end of this article, the player hears the following radio message:
Radio: “This is Colonel Korshunov, stalkers. The Zone will remain out of bounds until November 20, pending the completion of the Ward’s official affairs.”
Player: [sighs audibly]
Radio: “Consider this as me giving you time to prepare better.”
Player: “You gotta be kidding me… Really, again? Argh, gimme a break!”
In an attempt to keep eager fans from losing it at yet another delay, GSC Game World has also announced more info on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in an upcoming Developer Deep Dive, which will be published via Xbox channels on August 12.
With a little luck, Heart of Chornobyl will be released on Novemberr 20, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series S|X. For real, this time. It will also be available via Game Pass on day one. Check out the most recent trailer below.
