What a silly title, right? “Spooky’s House of Jump Scares” sound like it would be a parody, but those who have ventured inside this free-to-play indie title reported that there is more there than meets the eye.
The opening of the game sets the tone for something cute and silly, backed up by a handful of unsubtle, but clever references to other games and media. When I first saw it in Jim Sterling’s recent youtube video, I didn’t think much of it until I read some ominous statements in the comment section. Something more may lurk behind the cute exterior.
