Spectre is a competitive multiplayer game that supports virtual reality

Spectre

I played a preposterous amount of Left 4 Dead 2, particularly its versus mode in which a group of four human players have to play through the campaign while four other players take control of special zombies and try to stop them. Spectre reminds me a lot of that mode, as it too will pit a group of humans against the ghosts that live in an abandoned mansion.

As the humans, collectively referred to as “seekers”, you must explore a mansion while those who play as the ghostly “Spectres” have to drain your life by using traps and illusions. The seekers can defend themselves by turning their headlights on, as bright lights will stun pursuing spectres. The biggest selling point of the game, however, is the fact that it will support all major virtual-reality peripherals on the market, allowing players to immerse themselves even further in the game. For those who don’t have an Oculus Rift lying around, a standard PC setup will also be supported.

The developers are currently running both a Greenlight and a Kickstarter campaign for the game, the latter of which has already collected $5,792, just over a third of their $15,000 goal. Stretch goals include a variety of new maps, modes and models, as well as expanded mechanics and more content for the singleplayer mode.
