A small studio, known as Allone Games, has taken 1988’s Godzilla: Monster of Monsters for the Nintendo Entertainment System and reworked it into an interesting Creepypasta game. While it’s all work in progress, this first video gives a nice impression of what we can expect from this weird idea.
The original Godzilla game was a hybrid of sorts, combining a tactical map on which you moved your units around with traditional 2D platforming and a few elements from fighting games. Differences between that game and this fan-made title can be a bit hard to perceive, as many of the good creepypasta stories start off subtle, giving hints that something may be amiss before going all-out nearing the end. I am not sure how well this will translate to an actual game, however, since a large portion of the experience will pretty much just involve playing the NES classic with a few intentional glitches mixed in.
Hopefully development on the game will go well and we can soon pre-order our very own haunted NES cartridges.
