Metro 2033 provided a first-person survival horror experience that truly lived up to the genre’s standards. Being a first person shooter, one would imagine to go into the game’s dread-filled tunnels guns blazing, but doing so would be unwise. This post-apocalyptic title was based on a book which , like the game, revolved around Moscow, 20 years after the drastic effects of a nuclear war. The metro systems came into play and thus ended up housing survivors amid the chaos going on in the outside world. The game was met with some moderate reviews, but one couldn’t ignore some of the game’s technical hiccups which prevented it from sitting next to some of the genre’s finest. Thus, THQ has recently announced a sequel, titled Metro: Last Light, and some new information has just been released regarding it. Of course, expect to learn more at E3 next week.
– Last Light will be a direct sequel and will once again put players in the role of Artyom.
– Will once again feature stealth sections
– The difficulty won’t be scaled down.
– 4A is looking to fix the glitches and other technical issues that were present in the first game.
– Online multiplayer confirmed.
– 4A plans to push PC hardware to its limit for the game.
– They want to make it the best-looking console game.
– The demo shown to IGN definitely did a good job of showing this increased focus on graphics. They noted how real the cloth looked on the characters.
– The demo also showed off a chase sequence aboard a train.
