Frictional Games released a brand-new launch trailer for their latest game, SOMA. The game is a narrative-driven survival horror title that takes place in an underwater research facility, PATHOS-II. The protagonist, Simon Jarret, must find out what’s happened to the facility, all the while examining what it really means to be human. The new trailer shows off some of the game’s major set pieces, without giving too much away.
“Hello?” Simon asks while the camera pans over several bodies, his voice echoing through metallic hallways. “Did something go wrong?”
Cue the demonic voice and stellar montage!
“Five years ago, SOMA started as a simple idea; to make a game that would explore the more disturbing aspects of what it means to be a conscious being. Since then, we have gone through years of iterations, lots of hard work and almost tripled the size of our team,” said Thomas Grip, Creative Director at Frictional Games, in a press release from the studio. “We are very proud of how it has turned out, and feel that we have achieved what we set out to do.”
SOMA is available now for $29.99 on PS4, and PC. Read our review to find out why we think you should buy this game!
