Slant Six, the developers behind Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has laid off one quarter of their staff. The company states that these are temporary layoffs, however they are giving affected employees the opportunity to take a severance package in lieu of collecting employment insurance.
The company, which is based in Vancouver, British Columbia is currently looking for new projects, so their affected staff can be brought back to work as quickly as possible. Due to the studio being independent, Slant Six states that layoffs, while difficult, are a necessary business practice.
