Silent Hill Townfall: First Info + Trailer

Among the slew of new announcements about the Silent Hill series that were shown today at Konami’s Transmission event, there was one other presented. Silent Hill Townfall is a brand-new game in collaboration between Annapurna Interactive and No Code.

The trailer shows some vague but provocative flashing imagery, and features an audio interview between two people with some ominous overtones and implications, suggesting that one ends up in the town of Silent Hill. This feels a bit reminiscent of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, which frequently featured segments of interviews with a psychiatrist as you went through the game, but who knows what relevance this will have as we learn more about Townfall.

Additionally, this entry is developed by a team from the UK, similar to Shattered Memories, with No Code being a Scottish studio. Though the trailer doesn’t say anything about gameplay, it’s fairly safe to assume it will likely be a first-person narrative-focused adventure, similar to their previous games, Stories Untold and Observation.

No info about release dates or platforms was shared in today’s event, and though the devs did say the game “respects the source material but also does something a little bit different with it,” there’s just not a lot else known about the project just yet. They go on to say that news and/or updates will be coming in 2023, so we’ll just have to be patient until then to see where this project is heading.

You can watch the trailer below, and stay tuned for more updates as they come. Also, don’t forget to check out the rest of our coverage on the multitude of Silent Hill projects that were announced today at the event, including the remake of Silent Hill 2 and the new Silent Hill f.
