How Long is Silent Hill 2 Remake? Bloober Team Reveals

With just under two months until the release of Bloober Team’s highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake, fans are eager to know how much time they’ll need to set aside to fully experience the reimagined classic.

According to the game’s director, Mateusz Lenart, players can expect to spend about 16 to 18 hours on their first playthrough. However, the journey could extend beyond 20 hours for those who prefer to explore every nook and cranny, uncovering all the secrets the game has to offer. Lenart shared this information on X/Twitter. He noted that this doesn’t include any additional time spent on new game-plus modes or unlocking different endings.

Highlighting the depth and detail packed into this remake, Lenart explained:

If you like to spend your time searching for everything that we put into the game and things we’ve hidden for you, it will take you more than 20 hours for sure.

This new length marks a significant expansion over the original SH2, which took about 8 to 10 hours to complete. Bloober has added more exploration and narrative elements to the remake, allowing players to experience the eerie town more deeply.

In related news, 26 minutes of gameplay footage has been released on GameSpot’s YouTube channel. According to GameSpot, Bloober Team has repeatedly emphasized that the original Silent Hill 2 is not a combat-oriented game.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake releases on October 8th for PS5 and PC.
