A new gameplay trailer for the upcoming horror title Slitterhead has leaked just hours before its official announcement was supposed to take place during today’s Summer Game Fest event.
For those who don’t know, Slitterhead is an upcoming horror game developed by Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama and Bokeh Game Studio.
The new trailer that was leaked has a very action-horror vibe. Die-hard Silent Hill and horror fans in general may be disappointed by this direction but I knew as soon as I started seeing the first trailer for the game back in 2021, that this game was going to be something different, and perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea.
Having said that, everything shown in the trailer looks really cool. The gameplay is frenetic and compelling, the enemy designs are suitably grotesque, and the developers have definitely leaned into the weird. It will be exciting to find out how it plays when it’s released during this year’s holiday season.
Slitterhead launches on November 8th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC digitally for $49.99.
There will also be a physical PS5 Day 1 Edition in North America distributed by XSEED Games with an MSRP of $59.99, including a physical copy of the game, a CD of original songs from the game composed by Akira Yamaoka, an artbook with over 100 pages filled with gruesome details, and a sticker sheet, all housed within a custom outer box.
