Grasshopper Manufacture, the award-winning Japanese developer studio, revealed during the recent Devolver Direct showcase its plans to remaster its acclaimed action-adventure game Shadows of the Damned.
Originally released in June 2011, Shadows of the Damned was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game reunited Goichi “SUDA51” Suda with Resident Evil (1996) director Shinji Mikami after the pair had previously collaborated together on Killer7.
Shadows of the Damned invited gamers to assume the role of Garcia, a hard-as-nails, leather-clad, motorcycle-riding professional demon hunter who finds his true love kidnapped by vengeance-seeking demons.
As he explores the furthest reaches of the netherworld, Garcia battles through Hell and back, with danger and turmoil around every corner.
Players will find themselves challenged by demented puzzles and thrust into gruesome battles with vile and deformed creatures that can only come from the darkest recesses of Hell.
The game was also notable for featuring music from renowned Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka.
More details about the project will be revealed next week during its online showcase Grasshopper Direct, which will take place on June 14th at 9:00 pm PST/June 15th at midnight EDT on Grasshopper Manufacture’s official YouTube channel, Grasshopper Archives.
Be sure to tune in next week to check out all the exciting new announcements from SUDA51 and the rest of the Grasshopper Manufacture team.
